We’re Talkin’ Grand Rounds Here

Well don’t just talk about Grand Rounds!

Go read them!

This week’s “cocktail party” is over at Medpundit where the company is great and the topics are numerous.

And in celebration of this Christmas season, I will be replacing my usual cup of coffee with some holiday eggnog!

Care to join me? Grab a glass and meet me over at Medpundit’s place!

What, no witty Kim-isms about the stressed-out looking woman in the picture??

Well, no matter, as soon as I saw her with her clipboard, pencil and obvious tension headache, I knew right away who she was. Me! Well, me about 20 years ago.

She is a patient registrar in an overcrowded ED. She looks the way she does because the lobby, as well as all the ED beds, are full. The staff nurses are running around like Olympic sprinters on amphetamines, and the doc on duty is a kindly old soul who moves like a turtle with a sprained ankle. (Do turtles have ankles?) I digress.

After having been asked by the same ‘frequent flyer’ 27 times how much longer he will have to wait, she is contemplating whether any jury in the world would find her guilty if she used her nicely sharpened pencil to fill him full of lead…

    : )
