Spamalot!

ShinolaAh dear readers, how I wish I was making a witty reference to the Monty Python skit, or the hit Broadway show!

Alas, this is not the case.

What began with an odd case of alphabetical, nonsense comments with drug titles turned into some rather interesting…..shall we say…..suggestions on what one might do with one’s body if one were so inclined and had the appropriate equipment or consenting partner.

If you get my drift.

Or, as Eric Idle would say, “Eh, eh..nudge, nudge…wink, wink…know what I mean, know what I mean?”

And so, if you were met by any of that sort of thing on your visit to Emergiblog, I apologize most heartily for any objectionable content.

And…my main man Shane is working on stopping it permanently as we speak, so I don’t expect too much more dallying with my comments section.

I tried to put a good face one it and say, gee, maybe it’s because I’m popular….

Uh, I don’t think so.

If I was popular people would be offering me free Journey tickets and a trip to the American Idol finale and I hope you are all voting for Taylor Hicks!

What? You don’t power vote for two hours after Tuesday’s show like I do? You don’t cry on Wednesday when someone goes home, even if you hated them, like I do?

What’s the matter with you? Oh, you have a life…..what’s it like?

So now you understand why I put the Shinola ad up today. I figured I got hit with so much of what goes with it (if you know what I mean), that it would be a fitting tribute.

I’m rambling.

It’s 0520 and I must be tired.

Funny how an eight-hour run-fest will do that to a person….

Why Didn’t I Think Of That?

Too long ago

Every now and then, I run across a post that gives me the the inspiration to blog about a related topic.

Occasionally I find a post that sums a topic up so well there is nothing to add.

Our colleague, Nurse Practitioners Save Lives (The Nurse Practitioner’s Place)has written a post at her second blog, Nurse Practitioner News about “Common Sense When Calling Health Care Professionals”.

I am absolutely, positively, totally jealous that I did not think of this topic first!

But you can best believe I have the “GYST” of it now!

For Bora

Snoopy hug
Back in the summer of last year, I began Emergiblog.

One morning I woke up to find that my site meter read “32”!

My goodness! Did Instapundit find my blog?

No, but Bora Zivkovic did.

Bora is best known as the blog host of Circadiana and Science and Politics and being the unofficial “King of Carnival Hosting”!

The day after he hosted Grand Rounds in August of last year, he gave “Emergiblog” its very first link. He gave me a boost when I needed it; the encouragement to keep blogging.

And now I’d like to return the favor.

Abel PharmBoy at Terra Sigillata posted that Bora was in need of some help financially as he stuggles to finish his thesis and deal with mounting bills.

Bora and I have different religious views and different political views but we share the same sense of humor, a committment to the blogosphere and frankly, he’s just a totally cool guy.

I know Bora has done this before for other bloggers.

Now it is his turn. If you would like more information, check out Abel’s post.

Otherwise, please click on the “Science and Politics” link above and hit the Pay Pal or amazon.com buttons.

Bora would be ecstatic.

And I thank you.
