On A Wing And A Prayer

jet

Well, here I sit in Shannon, Ireland and the WiFi is FREE!

That makes up for all the lack of access and mucho Euros I had to pay when I DID find access!

I should be home by tonight and back to my regular posting routine (meaning 3 hour visits to Starbucks!)

I also wanted to send a note from Dr. Samuel Blackman, MD, PhD of the department of Pediatric Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Here’s a note from Dr. Blackman himself:

“Hi there.

Can I take a minute of your time to tell you about an effort to help children with cancer that I’ve recently contributed to?

It’s a campaign called Ride For Them and it’s being waged by a pediatric oncologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

He is riding in a 192-mile bike ride across Massachusetts called the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, and he’s riding on behalf of the patients that he cares for.

He built a website – Ride For Them – that has the pictures and stories of 23 of these remarkable children.

He’s hoping to raise $100,000, and has already raised over $43,000! Could you take a minute to visit this website and read some of these stories?

I hope that you’ll be inspired to support him, and also hope that you’ll be inspired to pass the word of this website onto others. Thanks!”

******************************

I have personally contributed and I heartily encourage others to do the same.

Anyone of us can be a victim or a family member of cancer at any time. I lost my mother-in-law to lung cancer and my nephew has leukemia.

Let’s help.

Thanks.
