What a Weekend!!!!!!!

What a busy and exciting weekend!

First, my daughter, niece and nephew all qualified for the California Cross Country State Championships!

Then, my daughter and nephew won the “Coaches Award” for the girls and boys varsity teams.

Lots of excitement and tears and sadness and hugging as this is their last year on the team.

See that varsity jacket? She has worn it all of six times during the year. I guess it’s a case of mom wanting her to have it when she didn’t really think it’s a big thing. But mom remembers when girls didn’t even have sports to participate in and girls wore their boyfriend’s varsity jackets.

Much better to earn your own!

Then I come home to catch the last five minutes of the Notre Dame vs. Duke game to find my Irish winning their last home game of the season!

This was a hard year for us ND fans and some of us (cough) did not forsake our guys. It was bittersweet to see players that started when I first became a fan graduate and take that final victory lap around the stadium.

Now, if I can just get out of going to an 80th birthday party so I can see the last game against Stanford next week, I’ll be an extremely happy woman….

Speaking of Notre Dame, Brady Quinn hasn’t taken any snaps for the Browns this season, but he hasn’t had to! Derek Anderson is doing the job quite well!

My Browns won today in a throat-clutching overtime period that has me hoarse from yelling so loud I think the refs in Baltimore heard me!

Any Ravens fans out there, you know that field goal was good! Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo!

Ahem. Now onto another exciting happening! I had the honor of being interviewed by Dr. Anonymous on his Blog Talk Radio program last Thursday!

I haven’t listened to it because I don’t want to hear my voice, but to all who thought I sounded “young”, thanks! Dr. A played a Jeff Scott Soto song (Stand Up and Shout) as my intro and I was so nervous I didn’t recognize it!

That was embarrassing!

Here’s the link if you want to listen! No profound statements on my part, but it was fun!

Thanks for stopping by the show. It was a great time. Hope to have you back on soon. I forgot to mention the JSS bumper music during the show. Thanks for pointing it out!

Were you at the ND/Stanford game? I was the one yelling the loudest! That was a crazy loud crowd for a visiting team!!! Fun game, when you have two marginal teams who have a very hard time holding onto a ball… I loved it.
