BlogWorld/NewMediaExpo10 Medblogger Conference

BlogWorld BadgeWe did it before, and we’re doing it again! The medblogger track (aka: Social Health) is on for this year’s BlogWorld/New Media Expo!

**********

WHO should attend? You!

  • Doctors, nurses, patients
  • physician assistants, dentists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, paramedics
  • medical students, nursing students
  • health care administrators, health care company employees and executives…

In other words….YOU!

*****

WHY should you attend? If you have any interest in social media on a personal or professional level (blogs, podcasting, Blog Talk Radio, Facebook, Twitter, vlogging), this is the place to be!

*****

WHAT is new in the Social Health track at BlogWorld/New Media Expo?

  • Breakout sessions!
    • Social Networks and the Medical Blogosphere: Compatible or Competitive?
    • Patient Blogging and Disease Awareness: Sickness and Health on the Web
    • Health Care and Social Media: Industry Issues
    • How Social Media is Being Used to Improve Health
  • “White Board” open discussion on health care and social media

*****

HOW can we do this?

The Social Health track is made possible by remarkable sponsors! Without them, this does not happen! Join me in thanking:

Johnson & Johnson was there when the idea of a “medblogger track” was just a gleam in a blogger’s eye! They provided sponsorship for our inaugural get-together,and we welcome (and thank) them again this year!

Also with us since the inaugural medblogger track is MedPage Today, and they are returning once again, providing valuable support and we continue to expand the Social Health track offerings!

***

They asked what we wanted most during last year’s track. What were we missing? Thanks to our feedback, the JNJ Campaign for Nursing’s Future will be providing snacks and (bless them!) plenty of charging stations! Bring your iPhones, laptops, netbooks, iPads, Blackberries and keep them powered up at the conference!

SHOW me the money!

Discount codes I haz dem. There is a discount available for Social Health track participants! Discount codes are available for $195 off the registration price, making the cost of the Social Media track only $200 if you register by September 16th! Blog world expo is awesome and nice to see some healthcare bloggers involved. Hopefully we can do a tweetup for lunch or something and I can meet some other people. Healthcare blogging still has a long way to go and so there’s tons to learn at this show.

Finally, some information about blogworld and medbloggers! I registered to attend blogworldexpo and I am happy there is finally a “medblog” conference. I started a Pediatric Dentistry blog in 2006 which has been surprisingly succesful-and want to take it to the next level-but sooo busy now. Hope to see everyone there and learn as much as I can from experienced bloggers.

Looking forward to blogworld. I think I will attend Panel #1 and #2. May bug out for other seminars in the afternoon. Still, if there are any meetups, tweetups or anything afterwards, please post it here (or somewhere). It will be great to meet other medbloggers.

I am happy to have found this information about medbloggers! Unfortunately I found out too late to attend. I will be arriving Thursday afternoon for Blogworld on Friday and Saturday. If you guys are planning to meet somewhere please post it here. I am a medical technologist staring a WEB page in my field. Would very much like to meet others in the medical profession.
    Thanks

I think we should definitely do a tweetup (meetup). I live in Las Vegas, so I’m open to most times. My twitter is http://www.twitter.com/techguy if you want to connect during that time.

I wonder how they came up with the panels. Sadly, no electronic medical records bloggers really represented. Too bad, there’s lots to talk about with the $36 billion in stimulus money that’s out there.

i am glad they have the medblog tract for 2010, but I cannot make it to Blogworld this year…I am hoping next year if it is as good as last time. For anyone else who did not attend last year-go this year!, it was very informative and I met several interesting people.

Note ot Kim– I don’t know, but the above with “Sporter”, that comment may have a bad link (spam). For some reason he copied my previous comment from last year, you might want to delete that one? Sporter is not me.
